Founded several years ago by Chicago Singer/Songwriter Edward William Ryan, The Simple Remedy has grown into one of the most reliable acts on the music scene. Featuring Singer/Songwriter Laura Patricia on Vocals, Michael Pentz on Lead Guitar, Mike Smith on Bass Guitar and Andy WIlmoth on Drums!

Edward William Ryan
Eddie Ryan is a Chicago Singer/Songwriter and was the founding member of South Side favorites Shades of Grey for over 10 years. When he left that band, he was determined to put together a band that was a complete melting pot of American Music. Built around a country music framework, he was determined to find the best musicians and singers in Chicago to create a sound that was unmatched. The Simple Remedy is the band he always wanted. Playing acoustic and rhythm guitar and singing songs about the American experience, Eddie is determined to bring all of the musical genres into a cohesive set of live music!
Laura Patricia
Laura is a Chicago native singer/songwriter with a voice that fits in with blues, soul, country and everything in between! Whether singing melody or harmony, she finds the perfect way to take the song to the next level. Laura joined the band in 2021 and has not only put her own flair on countless covers with her wide range, but she has also written, collaborated and contributed to the original music that the band performs today.
Mike Pentz
Mike is a fantastic lead guitar player who was most recently in The Moonlight Pickers and has a great history as a professional guitar player in Chicago! Mike has also been a part of some great Chicago institutions that includes time at the legendary 93.1 WXRT Radio Station!
Mike Smith
Mike is a longtime Chicago music veteran who was most recently the man on Bass Guitar for The Moonlight Pickers and also spent time with Nick Lynch! His feel for the groove adds a great sonic presence to the music. Mike's sound on the bass guitar is always exactly what the songs needs.
Andy Wilmoth
Andy is the glue that keeps the band on track. Hailing originally from West Virginia, Andy is a longtime Chicago drummer who also spent several years in Nashville honing his craft! His pocket and presence are a key to The Simple Remedy's musical journey.
